HZI researchers pave the way for new agents that render hospital pathogens mute

Scientists at the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig succeeded in the determination of the three-dimensional structure of a protein involved in the formation of signaling molecules. Based on this structure, it is now possible to model tailor-made inhibitors that can interrupt the signal path and thus mute the bacteria.
